- Our Approaches To Development -
At Their Future’s Bright Academy, we believe early childhood is a powerful window of opportunity. Our approach to development is rooted in research, play-based learning, strong partnerships, and early intervention—ensuring every child is supported academically, socially, emotionally, and developmentally.
Partnership with STL Pre-K Co‑Operative
We are proud partners of the STL Pre‑K Co‑Operative Expansion of Access, an initiative designed to increase high-quality preschool opportunities across our region.
Expanding Access
The cooperative utilizes previously untapped state pre‑K funding through Missouri’s school funding formula to create new pre‑K seats for children who need them most. This partnership allows us to expand access while maintaining high standards of care and instruction.
Commitment to Quality Improvement
Their Future's Bright Academy II has been awarded Missouri Accreditation, which reflects excellence in early childhood education.
Accreditation requires:
-
Certified and qualified teachers
-
Ongoing professional development
-
Use of a high‑quality, research‑based curriculum
Our classrooms implement a play‑based, developmentally appropriate curriculum inspired by AppleTree, supporting children’s natural curiosity, creativity, and love of learning.
Kindergarten Readiness Focus
Kindergarten readiness is a central goal of the STL Pre‑K Co‑Operative. The cooperative sets a benchmark that 85% of students will be kindergarten‑ready. During the 2024–2025 school year, readiness levels among participating programs increased from 29% at the beginning of the year to 72% by year‑end—a reflection of the power of high‑quality early learning.
Whole‑Child Development
We support the whole child, recognizing that learning is more than academics. Our approach intentionally nurtures:
-
Cognitive and language development
-
Social‑emotional skills
-
Physical and motor development
-
Independence, confidence, and problem‑solving
Children learn best through hands‑on, play‑based experiences that are meaningful, engaging, and responsive to their individual needs.
Developmental Screenings & Early Intervention
In partnership with the Riverview School District, we conduct developmental screenings and connect children who may need additional support with therapy and services through the school district.
Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ)
Teachers and families work together to complete:
-
ASQ‑3 (Ages & Stages Questionnaire)
-
ASQ:SE‑2 (Ages & Stages Questionnaire – Social Emotional)
These nationally recognized screening tools are used for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years and help us:
-
Set individualized developmental goals
-
Measure progress over time
-
Identify strengths
-
Detect potential areas of concern early
The Power of Early Intervention
We believe early intervention can be the difference between a child being left behind and a child leading the way. When concerns are identified early, children can receive timely support that strengthens outcomes not only for kindergarten—but for life.
By partnering with families, school districts, and community resources, we ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Partnering with Families
Families are essential partners in a child’s development. We value open communication, shared goal‑setting, and collaboration to support each child’s growth both at school and at home.
Together, we are building strong foundations—one child at a time.
